A little about me
My name is Javier, I am a musician, composer, teacher, writer, researcher. I've been studying and playing the piano since my years in high school. I took an interest on the cello later in life, for this reason, I decided to work on "The Flats and Sharps Project" as an enjoyable way to express some ideas through piano and cello.
I am originally from Guanajuato, Mexico. Music had been a huge part in my life since I was a kid, I decided to take private piano lessons with a local teacher and it was during this time period that I was introduced to classical pieces by Beethoven and Mozart. I also took music notation and I tried a hand at composing, discovering a new way to communicate in terms of music.
I started the Flats and Sharps Project as a music diary, but quickly turned into a full project focusing on music for the Cello and Piano, inspired by events, ideas and opinions about my own life. some pieces are more difficult than others, some music would be very short, but the truth is, this is music that it is part of who I am. I've been experimenting with some of the secrets of the art of composing, which now has become one of my passions, and the result is all the music I am presenting and sharing here in my blog. These cello/piano duets are a brief glimpse into my life that not only had helped me to be grounded but also, they'd help me to imagined an alternative world, and above all, it is music that continues touching my life.
I am making the sheet music available to download through the website free-scores.com If you happen to learn some of the music, you may upload a video of your performance there. Feel free to contact me anytime, I would be happy to answer any questions and say hello.
